Requesting a Fact from Microsoft Teams

Purpose

The primary function of the Colloquial Bot is to drive the collection of Fact data through Microsoft Teams. This is a push-based approach with fact requests pushed to channels to be answered by the relevant people.

This step will walk you through the process of requesting an Assessment Fact, answering an assessment, and viewing the results on the Colloquial platform.

Sending a Fact Request

There are multiple locations in Colloquial where you may request a Fact.

  1. Fact Card Request tab
  2. Fact Card view from a Fact row using the more actions ellipsis option.
  3. Insights view from a Fact row using the more actions ellipsis option.

In the example below, use the  more actions ellipsis dropdown menu. Click the Request in Microsoft Teams action.

You will be presented with a modal window where you may Choose where to send the message and provide an optional Message to the channel or user. Click Send when ready.

The Colloquial bot will send a message as specified.

Click  Submit to provide the Fact assessment. Or use the Show Fact Card to be provided with a summary on known information.

After submitting, the user will be provided with a confirmation message.

Clicking the View results action will direct the user to the data insight page in Colloquial to compare against other Fact Cards belonging to the same Topic (i.e. Apps).
